About Heesoo
It has been my pleasure to be in the field of book production for over 30 years. During those times I have continuously sought after different ways to go beyond the traditional in achieving sustainable book production, with more efficient approach to better capture the essence of book's content.
The paradigm of how books are read has dramatically changed in the digital era. Books are stored on hand-held devices and reading anytime, anywhere has become a common practice unlike how we used to shelve and hold physical books. More crucially in the present times books have evolved to become more than a simple medium to share information, but they now serve as objects reflecting individual perspectives and values.
Books will be more than a tool to gain knowledge in the future as an instrument of expression tailored to a person’s beliefs and viewpoints, allowing communications with various individuals as a form of cultural interaction that significantly enhances the quality of life. Considering these changes and shifts in production methods, I collaborated with various publishers in establishing a process of “inventory-free publishing” using POD (Print on Demand). Publiance is an experimental platform, and a visionary design studio dedicated to exploring creative ideas in depth and exchanging profound knowledges. With the publishing industry in its inevitable evolution into a new format, my passion is to see the transformation of how books are created and published.
